Meet the first resident of millionaires' row, and yes, he’s saving you a spot

There are still two luxury homes going up next door in the beachside suburb of Tewantin. And the first resident on what Endeavour Foundation is calling ‘Millionaire’s Row’ is already putting the word out:

“Buy a ticket. Be my neighbour.”

A full circle moment – with a $2.9M upgrade.

For one lucky man, life has just come full circle, and it has a million-dollar price tag to match.

Winning Endeavour Foundation’s $2.9 Million Prize Home in Tewantin wasn’t just a stroke of luck, it was a homecoming.

From East Coast to West Coast, and back

Tewantin wasn’t just a beachside suburb in Noosa Shire for the winner. It was Noosa. It was where the winner spent his childhood and teenage years. It’s also where he met his wife. The area always felt like home, and he hoped one day they’d return for good.

The long-time FIFO (fly-in fly-out) worker had spent years away in Western Australia’s mining industry, focused on saving, working hard, and chasing the great Australian dream of home ownership.

“I moved to WA during the COVID lockdown,” he said.

Before leaving, he and his wife sold their home in Brisbane just before the property market surged. As prices climbed, buying back into the area seemed increasingly out of reach.

“There were moments I believed we might never be homeowners again. I thought we’d be stuck out in the ‘desert’ forever,” he said.

What he didn’t expect was that dream would come true with a phone call.

“When this house in Tewantin popped up, I knew this would be the one I’d drop everything and move for. And yeah, that’s what we’re doing,” he said.

The ticket that changed his life

While working away in Western Australia, he kept the dream of coming home to Noosa alive with one lottery ticket at a time.

“I started buying lottery tickets with Endeavour Foundation because it felt like a win-win.”

“I wanted to support people with disability in the community, and if it helps me in the process, well that’s even better,” he said.

For several years, he was a Star Supporter with Endeavour Foundation, buying the 30-ticket bundle for $100 a month.

“The odds are way better than other lotteries. I just looked at what I could afford a month, and knew I was going to be in every draw.”

The phone call that made him Noosa’s newest prize homeowner

When the winning call came through from Dominic Taylor, Endeavour Foundation Lotteries’ General Manager, like many, the new homeowner couldn’t believe it.

“I thought someone was trying to trick me, because things like this just don’t happen to me,” he said.

But when he saw his initials on the winners’ page under Lottery #460, that’s when reality started to sink in. He was now the proud owner of a brand new $2.9 Million Prize Home in the very suburb he grew up in.

Real people. Real winners.

Even now, standing in his new home, it still feels a bit surreal. But his story proves that it can happen to anyone, all you need is a ticket.

With family reunited and a future full of possibility, he’s not only holding onto the keys — he’s holding onto his Star Supporter membership, because Star Supporters are always in the running.

And he’s already encouraging others to join in. Friends and family have signed up as Star Supporters, inspired by his million-dollar win.

“Yeah. It’s real. Just get a ticket.”

“Mum’s in. A friend of mine in Western Australia. A couple of cousins too.”

And with two more luxury Prize Homes still to be built next door, your chance is right here.
