Real winner’s story: Hot tip leads to $3.1 million win

A mate’s lowkey hot tip at a family celebration turned into a life-altering $3.1 million win for hardworking small business owner, Joseph, from Sydney.

And that’s exactly how Joseph felt weeks later when he flew to Queensland to receive the keys, although he did his best to keep a lid on his excitement.

However, after finally seeing his amazing new home in person, it was impossible to contain his joy. 

“It was just beautiful, and it was so nice to see all the love they put into it.” 

With a non-stop business back in Sydney, Joseph’s first visit to his new Sunshine Coast home was only fleeting. 

“I just went up for five hours just to get the keys and then I was on the next plane out. 

“My work is really booming and it's hard to find people to work for you,” he explained. 

But Joseph and his wife are confident that one day soon they’ll be able to visit and maybe even never leave. 

“Yeah, we're not selling. We love it. My wife loved it straight away and she’s locked into it. She wants to go up there, and she wants to stay there, and never have to come back,” he laughed. 

“We're trying to get more people on board in the business so we can go up there and stay forever. The plan is to sort out our business here and let it run by itself and then go up there. We're nearly there – maybe a few months? We're working hard, that's why we're not up there now. 

“But don’t worry, we’ll get there… we’ll get there.” 

Having never even holidayed in Queensland before, when they do finally make the move, the couple will have a whole new world to explore. 

“We're European, so we jump over to Europe, but other than that we've been to Melbourne and that's freezing; we don't like the cold. But Pelican Waters is a great location!” 

“We're really happy. Yeah, we’re stoked.” 

Even though Joseph and his wife have already won their dream home, they have no plans to stop supporting Endeavour Foundation. 

“We're going to keep buying tickets. We hope other families enjoy that nice feeling of security. Hopefully we can win again.”
